Communicator C2 Drivers
I'm trying to install a Toshiba eStudio163 multifunction printer (MFP), but keep receiving a 'C2 driver error' message when I try and print. I feel like I have all of the current drivers for the device, but it seems that WinXP still doesn't recognize theprinter or that it might recognize, but it's not sure. I think that the C2 driver controls the communication between the desktop and the printer, at least that's what I've discovered on-line.
The printer in connected via USB, if that makes any difference. If I can figure out how to update the C2 driver or install it or work around it, I think the printer will work. Does anyone have any idea what I am talking about? Can someone of great intelligence help me out, because I know enough about computers to reallymess them up! C2 Driver Toshiba estudio163device is not connected or not responding. If problem persist, try switching the device off and on again'I have tried their recommendation gaining nothing. When I download the program there is a part of the process that asks how the device is connected to the computer. Again, it is connected via USB, with the device program creates a virtual COM3 port.
The COM3 port shows no problems when I view in DeviceManager. Initially, the program wasn't recognizing the connection, but I systematically tried every USB port on the comp. Until the program found the device and continued the download process automatically. This is what the message says with a big X.' Thanks X, I don't know what they mean when they say 'press the PRINTER hard key on the control panel.' I don't see a PRINTER key on the control panel on the printer itself. I did download the GA-1190/1191 controlers, but haven't done anything with themyet.
