I like the way they look in some photographs and not in others.I don't know if the top plates vary quite a bit in the appearance of the actual finish or if they just appear that way in different photographs.I've noticed that many people apply finishes to their top plates. I don't know if that is ever to 'correct' the look of theirs or simply the desire to customize/personalize.When I received mine, I liked the way it looked.
