  1. Sanako Study 1200 Download

We have now released Sanako Study V8.20. This version takes another step in bringing our classroom and online learning solutions closer together as Sanako Study files can now be copied directly to Sanako Anywhere classes. Sharing files to Sanako Anywhere is the easiest way to add a true distance learning element to a Study classroom.

Additionally, this version offers new customization possibilities for teachers and the possibility to use either multicast or unicast transmission depending on the installation environment. You can select what activities you want to show in the drop-down menu to keep things simple – show only what you want to use. The unicast option provides a very robust and reliable alternative for wireless environments. The download page can be found here. In response to our customers, Sanako have released a version of the Study software that can be installed to a standalone PC or Laptop in order for the teachers to “get to know” the software in the comfort of their own environment and not have to learn it whilst in front of the class.

Our software is like any other, the more you use it the better you become – so practise away and then amaze your students. Click to go to the download page. This entry was posted in, and tagged, on.

When students are working in a Study software environment – whether in the classroom or at home – then they often make mistakes and want to start again! Hard to believe I know but it could happen? If this is ever the case then here’s a simple and quick thing to do. Simply right click on the bottom triangle in the Study Recorder and select the YES option to clear the student track. The original file (in the program track if one has been opened) will remain and hence the student can simply press the red speak icon and have another go. You will then be prompted to confirm this action as shown below. Click YES to start again and No to keep your existing recordings.

We hope that this tip answers the question you get asked from students about how to remove all student recording and start again. This entry was posted in, and tagged, on. When using the language lab we are often asked if there is a way of removing classroom noise for student listening exams – and of course the answer is Yes. By clicking on the loudspeaker icon in the student interface the listener can effectively switch off the microphone and hence they will only hear the audio being played and not their own voice, breathing or background classroom noise – no matter how quiet there is always some noise such as lights, fans and central heating. The picture below shows where to click on the student interface – when the MIC icon shows a red crossthrough it then the microphone is muted.

Help your students in their listening examinations by telling them about this simple tip! It takes seconds but the effect could last a lifetime with better examination results.

An echo is heard when the teacher has a one-to-one conversation with a student. An echo is heard when the students are placed into pairs for role play activities. A loud feedback or whistle can be heard when the student PCs first start up The reason for these issues has been found to be nothing to do with any software setting but is simply due to the fact that the webcam microphone on the monitor has not been disconnected or disabled. Hence, when the student speaks the sound is fed to BOTH the headset mic and the webcam mic which results in an apparent echo.

As the headset is the default mic then there is no need for the in-built webcam mic at all and hence it can (and should) be ideally disconnected from the motherboard or disabled in the OS. This is ESSENTIAL reading.

Whilst we have 100% proven that the headsets are rugged, robust and provide superior audio quality for language learning – they do require you to make sure that you have the full set of drivers installed and that the levels selected are optimised. Please ensure that you have the full set of drivers installed Run the Tools – Sound Settings option from within the Tutor and Student software and make sure that you set the mixer lines and levels as shown below.
