Get used to it, though it was more intuitive immediately in the Wii version.Considering the game's design, it handles very well, just like in God Hand, stop fighting the controls and get used to them, and it becomes very intuitive.I can respect that plenty of people have been able to play this game just fine, and back when it came out it probably didn't seem so bad, but games have come a really long way since then. After playing so many games that have fluid, responsive controls, I've really started to notice when controls become an obstacle. I'm going to keep trying to get used to them (but I've switched to a mouse, since a controller was so infuriating), but it really takes a lot out of the experience for me if the game is only scary or difficult because I can't get Leon to turn the way I want quickly enough. And is actively designed for the type of controls it has.It is snappy, fast, and precise, which is all you could ask it for.Now if you want it to control like something else, you are doing it wrong.I've really started to notice when controls become an obstacle. Turning is instantaneous. It snaps literally instantly to where you are looking when you aim. Also there is a quick turn button in case you need to reposition.Stop trying to force the game to handle in ways it was not meant to, learn how to position yourself, aim.RE4 is one of the best third person shooters EXACTLY BECAUSE it does not handle like other third person shooters. It is not the controls that are the obstacle. It is your obstinacy.

Again, with the God Hand comparison. It seems awkward at first, but then you realize that the game was literally built around the controls, and it is ridiculously elegant.I mean, I get it. You do not like/are not used to how it handles.Edit, also if you would still rather not adapt to the controls, well, you could have just gone to the guides section here!

Look at this, something that might make it slightly more to your liking.Apparently it has issues, but hey, it is possible to have a more 'standard' way of turning, it seems. Originally posted by:No mnan, this are escuses, use a old controls method, who was already bad and stiff and old at time re4 come out.dont keep say the game is build around it, is not a reason to use this bad control.Except that, again, it is neither bad nor stiff. It is responsive and works fairly well if you get used to it and do not fight it (just like God Hand).RE4 is built around those controls. Just like God Hand is built around VERY similar controls (and it works perfectly), and Dark Souls is built around its VERY idiosyncratic control. If you do not like it or cannot get used to it even after playing it several times in ps2 or other platorms, that does not make it bad. It works well, it is precise, it is responsive, and all the encounters in the game are designed around the control limits. And they work very well within it.

Originally posted by:Not work well, if work well other game would use it, lol, as i recall rs4 was the last game to dont use the strafe and so on.i repeat, any decent game is build around the controller, this not means the controller used isgood.Shadows of the Damned and The Evil Within both have similar control schemes (both being helmed by Shinji Mikami, as well), with Shadows being more mobile and Evil being. Far more stringent. Interesting way how they both build up on RE4 in entirely different ways, as well as RE5 and 6 going farther in the action road than even Shadows of the Damned. Evil Within is practically Resident Evil 4 2 in some ways.Edit: God Hand.

Resident Evil 4 Ps2 Button Mod

It cannot be stressed enough.God Hand handles perfectly. It is also the ONLY action game where the camera never, ever gets in the way.
